Theora (CG)

The Muse

The goddess of creativity and inspiration. She acts through dreams and sudden realizations, gently prodding people to greatness. She is slow to act, but her work shakes the world.

Those who are followers of Theora are part of the Hadurin church, but put an emphasis on discovery, and creativity in their work. One must be dedicated to their craft to appease Theora. Artists, and Sculptures are often know to be followers of this variant of the

Hadurin religion.

Relations:

-Theora has always worked closest to Hadurin, as both share a drive of creation and craftsmanship.

-She admires gods with the greatest passion. She has great appreciation for Velona, and has long looked up to her mother Feyja.

-Her worst relationships are with those she believes lack passion, such as Balmoth and Oros; or those that destroy instead of creating, such as Gazek and Sithrak.

Scripture: Clay Passions

Adds to the stories in Hadurin's The Way of Mountains, Theora adds "The Sculptor" & "The Painter"  to the text. The lives of two artists and the lessons they learned from their creative works. While it does discuss the benefit to society (primarily as inspirations to other characters in the world) these chapters are more distinct about the personal benefits this kind of work had. The lessons and discoveries that can only be learnt from putting ones all into the creative process.

The Painting of Gabriella an oil painting of a dark haired woman bathing her child in the glassy lake mid autumn. Is believed to be an actual painting by "The Painter" the painting matches a description noted in Clay Passions. Finding other artwork and sculptures from either the Sculpture or the Painter would be of great value to the church of Theora.

Heralds:

Theora possesses no heralds. Choosing instead to act as muse to her faithful. Many a time has a fit of creative passion served to pass her guidance on through a work of art

Curse/Blessings:

-A spark of inspiration is said to be a gift of Theora's blessing, and a rainbow is supposed to indicate good fortune to come

-A fault in the center of your sculpting stone, Dull Grey Skies, or Creative Block are all signs of Theora's Displeasure, so it is often advised to change projects completely if this is happening.

2: Sensibility of Crafting: Your understanding of the inner workings of magical crafting has won you a protective boon from your ancestors and from Theora herself, allowing you to better avoid powers drawn from magical items. You gain a +4 sacred bonus on any saving throw against an effect generated by a magic item. This includes spells cast from scrolls, staves, or wands.

3: Crafter's Pride: You have learned the intrinsic nature of what gives life to objects, and can pour your soul into the construction of a given creation to infuse it with a semblance of blessed life. Once per week, you can cast animate objects on a single object that you’ve created. The effect does not have a duration; the animated object remains indefinitely as a companion, following your commands as best it can. You cannot animate a new companion while one is already serving you, though as a full-round action you can dismiss a companion, reducing it to lifelessness. If your companion is destroyed, you cannot use this ability again for another week. You cannot affect an object animated in this way with a permanency spell.
